Brass Templates from Lasting Impressions and Rubber Stamping.

About Me

My photo
Hi. I'm Donna and the owner of a business called Luv2Emboss. I've been crafting since the moment I could color with a crayon without eating it first! I have been embossing with Lasting Impressions' Brass Templates for 20 years and I am on their Design Team. I also love to craft with rubber stamps and I sell Lawn Fawn products. I hope the cards and projects I display will perk your interest to try a new craft or play with an old one! Enjoy. :-)

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Did you know that Lasting Impressions is not “just a one trick pony!”  There are so many thing you can do, i.e., emboss, of course, with more than 1800 brass templates; make greeting cards and other craft projects with their beautiful cardstocks; and, there are endless ways and ideas using their MemoryMixer Scrapbook program … not to mention their Colored Impressions Software also! Oh my goodness, the list goes on and on!  I, for one, craft with Lasting impressions almost every day.  The project above is just one of my recent endeavors.  I purchased some wood letter blocks and the race was on to replace the “O” in the word HOME.  This idea came from a company called Foundations Decor and along with another company called The Wood Connection, I managed to fill the “O” spot with 12 different images and here’s the kicker … all images are covered with Lasting Impressions’ Cardstock!  Yep … every last one of them.  Here, for example, is Mr. Waddles and he is the most special image, out of the twelve, because he was actually created, and gifted to me, by LI Blog Design Team Member Barbara!  She used some older LI cardstock and embossed with LI Template #L9348 (flower petal) for his feet and LI Template #L9816 (wreath bow) for his necktie.  Isn’t he adorable?  I love him!
My point here is, think out of the box using Lasting Impressions to create something wonderful for yourself or someone you love or your family and friends.  There’s really no trick to it.  It’s easy and so much fun.  I will be sharing the rest of my “HOME” with you as the months go by so stay tuned and in the meantime, I am wishing you all a very Happy Thanksgiving.  Embossing joys, ðŸ™‚  Donna

FALL IDEAS FROM DONNA

Oh my goodness!  I am the worst when it comes to updating my own Blog.  By the time I have my card classes and update Lasting Impressions' Blog, the month has quickly flown by.  If anyone can figure out how to get more hours in a day ... I'm there!  Here are a few recent projects:

Isn't this just the cutest puppy?  The stamp is from Art Impressions and I colored him with my Copic Markers.  The background plaid paper is from Lasting Impressions.

Here's another Art Impressions Stamp.  This adorable Elf was supposed to be a shaker card!  However, I preferred to just mount the top of his present with no Wobble.

Kristina Werner designed this Owl Card that I pinched and after much coloring, again with my Copic Markers (lots of them!), I mounted the Owls on the perfect plaid paper by Lawn Fawn.  The Owl's wings "flutter" when you pull the tab.  I nearly wore out that tab ... pulling it over and over again! :-)  The stamp is from Art Impressions and it comes with the dies.

Yesterday I made this Shaker Card.  L.I. Template #L9538 Apple Cider Jug.  I used Colored Impressions' Software to create the tiny apples to use inside the jug, along with red and green sequins.

And this card  is Plant Kindness, Lasting Impressions Template #L9708.  Shamefully, I have had this template for ages but never used it.  I'm so happy I finally got around to it and I love Lasting Impressions' Gingham paper, don't you?  We can all use a reminder to be kind and I have a feeling I will be using this design over and over again as I find the design so pretty and the message just peaceful and kind!  Embossing joys, :-) Donna

THE WATERING CAN!

Good morning once again.  While at Lasting Impressions last week, Kaye had a challenge for me and don't we all love a crafting challenge?  She had 3 images of this watering can (LI Temp #L9005) and she didn't know exactly what to do with them.  This is an older template and one, believe it or not, I did not own!  Yikes.  So, here is what I came up with:

Most often I will double-up the flowers whenever I layer flowers and I love how they look on the first two card samples.  I am also a fan of paper tearing and if you hold your paper and tear towards you, you will get a really nice white edge.  I used LI vellum and ribbons on the handle on the last card  which gave the can a cute whimsy look.  Thanks for the challenge Kaye.  I really enjoyed working with this watering can.  Embossing joys, :-)  Donna

HELLO EVERYONE!

Oh my gosh, where has the time gone?  I've been so busy with my own craft classes and the Lasting Impressions Blog, I've lost track of time and an opportunity to update my own blog just never happened.  Well, that is changing and I hope to be more efficient with my own blog and updates!  I recently returned from LI, in Utah, and I had not only a fabulous time but I enjoyed Kaye's embossing class, an opportunity to visit with two customers from Orange County, CA, and I demonstrated the LI software ... Colored Impressions.  Here are some projects I made during my visit:
