LUCKY ME ... LAWN FAWN TOO!

Have I mentioned that I also stamp?  I think embossing will always be my first love but I also love stamping and particularly with Lawn Fawn's adorable stamps and dies.  I just got this card from one of my favorite Lawn Fawn customers (and friend!), Courtney in Utah!  Look at this very cute card she made for a friend who is having a baby.  I just went ga-ga over it ... that's baby talk for crazy!

Oh my goodness, isn't this just the cutest?  Courtney is a new mom herself and struggling with finding time for herself ... to make cards!  I'm so happy she found time to do this one.  Thank you Courtney for sharing this card with me.  Stamping joys, :-) Donna

LI's Camp & Make-Over Mondays!

Good afternoon everyone.  Once again, I am behind in my posting.  Did any of you register for "Camp Emboss-a-Lot?"  OMG, what fun to watch owner/Kerry create video on-line classes:  Nature's Calling, Gnome for Christmas, and Tiki Time, which included introductions of 6 new LI Templates:  New Beeehive (#L9827), new Chester (#L9826) and Bucky (L9833), new Tiki (L9827) and Tropical Flowers (L9830), and a surprise "Limited Edition Template, Party Time (#L9831).  Then Kaye and Debbie did a couple of very fun "Makeover Monday videos."  If you visited the LI Blog recently, then you saw this first card Kaye and Debbie "made over."

BEFORE I LEAVE!

Good morning once again!  Before I leave on our little vacation, I wanted to add a couple more things.  If you have visited LI lately, you will note that my LI Blog Teammate, Barbara and I have taken a break from doing the LI Blog.  I have supported LI from the very beginning and actually began Blog updates on Lorie Jacobs' web site, Touch of Embossing, many years ago!  Barbara and I  have so enjoyed supporting LI with our own style of embossing and we hope we encouraged many of you to buy a template, or two, and try your hand at embossing with a brass template and also using their wonderful Colored Impressions Software.  My plan now is to continue posting embossing ideas and projects (and stamping) from Barbara and I, on my own Blog here, along with many ideas from my customers and friends.  Here are a couple of ideas and cards I've received recently.

HAPPY ALMOST 4TH OF JULY

Oh my goodness, where did June go?  I can't believe how quickly this year is flying by.  Summer has hit San Diego and we are having beautiful weather.  We are leaving for Texas on Monday for a 10 day trip to visit family and it's going to be at least 10 degrees hotter there!  Thankfully, there's a lake just a few feet away and I'll be swimming daily!  I wanted to post a few things before leaving.  Have you seen the latest new papers from LI?  I love red, white and blue ... and our Country ... so take a peek  when you have time and visit LI's Home Page.  Happy Embossing, :-)  Donna

ICE CREAM ANYONE?

HAVE A BEE-UTIFUL DAY!

Good afternoon.  I hope you are having a bee-utiful day.  I sure am.  It started with the completion of my "Bee Teapot."  Yep, I can't stop making them!  LOL  Kaye at LI recently did a Bee Kit that inspired me to do another teapot using only LI paper and templates.  Here is Kaye's card:

Talk about a whopper to make!  Oh my goodness.  But, I do love the outcome and LI Bee Kits/Tags sure made it easier to put together.  I used the following Templates:  S750, S682, S683, L9111, L976 and L9369.

I also received an adorable "Twin Bee Card" from LI Blog Team Member Barbara.  Barbara has supported me for many years on the LI Blog and I am so grateful and very delighted to show off her version of "Bee Kind and Bumble" and to call her my good friend.  Here's her card:

LLAMA TELL YA ...

Good afternoon.  Recently LI came out with a few new templates, including a Llama!  Why the Llama has become so popular,  I truly have no idea.  But, it could have something to do with all the adorable, and very funny, sentiments that people have come up with and now you will find Llama cards everywhere on Pinterest!  So, "Llama tell ya"  what I did with the two new LI Llama templates.

First, I embossed the Llama (#L9820) on a piece of white cardstock.  Then I turned it over, face up, lined up the template with the embossed edges and I dabbed Tim Holtz Pumice Stone Distress ink through the template onto the raised sections of the Llama.  I then used a black Le Pen to outline some areas, added blush to her cheeks, embossed some flowers, and mounted the Llama onto my card base.  I used Sunny Studio Sliding Window Die to slide and stand my Llama upright, revealing the sentiment hidden beneath!  Here is my second Llama card:

For this Llama (#L9821 and i301), I used a Die Frame from My Favorite Things Die-namics and the Llama is actually inside the card ... looking through the window.  I embossed the Llama and distressed it the same way I did the larger Llama above.  If you search the internet, you can find lots of cute, adorable sentiments and here are just a few that might inspire you:

A NEW UPDATE WITH DONNA!

Good afternoon and yes, it's really me!  I have been so busy with Lasting Impressions' blog and my card classes, here in San Diego, that my own blog has been ignored for quite some time.  Well, no more.  I am "on it," and I hope you will enjoy the cards and projects I will be posting more often.  Please leave a comment if you have time.  I would love to hear from you.

Now then, I just finished a really fun class ... making teapots.   Yes, you heard me right!  This is no ordinary teapot, it an Exploding Teapot.  I first saw the teapot idea on Gerda Steiner's Web Site.  It was an adorable teapot card designed by Larissa from Car-d-elicious using a really cute digital mouse image from Gerda Steiner.   I knew I had to make one!  So, I search the internet to find just the right teapot and I found a download, from a Stampin' Up dealer, for $2.50, to make an Exploding Teapot!  Here is what I am talking about:

Is this not the cutest thing?  This is the front of the teapot and I used cardstock from Lasting Impressions and the little flowers are a stamp and die from Lawn Fawn.  Here is the backside:

The Coffee & Tea Stamp Set is from Simon Says and I painted the images using Copic Markers and edges were stained with Tim Holtz Distress Ink.  I, of course, served tea and warm Scones with Lemon Curd and Strawberry Preserves.  It was a lovely tea party!  :-)
