About Me

My photo
Hi. I'm Donna and the owner of a business called Luv2Emboss. I've been crafting since the moment I could color with a crayon without eating it first! I have been embossing with Lasting Impressions' Brass Templates for 20 years and I am on their Design Team. I also love to craft with rubber stamps and I sell Lawn Fawn products. I hope the cards and projects I display will perk your interest to try a new craft or play with an old one! Enjoy. :-)

ARE YOU FREEZIN' YET?

Donna's Christmas Trees from "Season for Freezin" class.

Happy Sunday everyone.  Are you going to watch LI's next class videos on Monday?  I actually couldn't wait after LI announced a delay and I made my own version (above) of "Farm Fresh Christmas Trees."  I love how it turned out.  Now, if making that card only helped with our San Diego weather because we are a long way from "freezin."  This week we reached an all time high I think of 104.  Ouch ... trust me, it was hot and the A/C was on!  :-)

So, as I wait for Monday's class, I got busy and made some Halloween Cards.  I hope these will inspire you!  Happy Embossing, :-)  Donna.

HALLOWEEN WITH BARBARA

Donna's Pumpkin Witch LI #L9069

Good afternoon!  I have a couple of very cute Halloween ideas from Design Team Member Barbara and, with time on my hands, and not a stylus for once (LOL), here is what she sent me recently:

Barbara's Halloween Truck LI #L9413, #L9422, #L1085 & L9670

Time and time again, Barbara has come up with the cutest designs using Lasting Impression's Truck Template.  I love the colors she used on this truck and how adorable is that ghost and the cat taking a ride with bats flying overhead and the cutest pumpkins maybe trying to catch a ride!  I love it.  :-)  And look how cute she made these Halloween Jars!  I wonder what is inside those jars.  Candy maybe?

HALLOWEEN DAYS GONE BY!

Kaye's October 2017 Coaster Calendar, Template L9339.

As most of us struggle through this pandemic, I am reminded that every day may not be good, but there is good in every day!  And today, I am counting my blessings for my crafty friends and family. With Halloween approaching next month, I am wondering what kind of Halloween will this year bring?  Will there be "Trick-or-Treaters," for example?  The image above was made by Design Team Member Kaye when she taught a Coaster Calendar Class in 2017, at Lasting Impressions.  OMG ... three years ago?  And who puts purple and orange together?  Really?  Yep ... perfect for Halloween!  LOL  And here is the "inside" of a Halloween explosion Box I made several years ago (first layer only):

Donna's Halloween Explosion Box inside!  Templates L9104, S404, S410, S603, L9419.

Will you be sending Halloween Cards this year?  In case you might, here are some examples of  "Halloween Days Gone By," and some new ideas will be posted in the days to come!  So, be sure and check in again and again!  Happy Halloween, errrrrr Embossing!   :-)  Donna

LASTING IMPRESSIONS' PAINT CHIP CARDS

Donna's Yellow Paint Chip

A couple of years ago, LI came out with Paint Chip Cards and all you had to do was "decorate" them.  It might be kinda hard to see but, if you look closely, you will see that I used a part of a Yellow Paint Chip, in the oval, under those flowers!  :-)   Sneaky, huh?  Here is another example I used last year for Mother's Day:

Donna's Mother's Day Paint Chip Card.

This one is much easier to see!  There are so many ways you can use these Paint Chip Cards and here are some very creative ideas from Design Team Member Jan!

Jan's Blue Paint Chip Friend Card.

Jan's Pink Paint Chip Flower Card.

Janls Embossed Pots using Yellow Paint Chip Card.

Jan's Lavender Paint Chip Flowers.

Donna's Embossed Thank You Paint Chip Card.

I hope these ideas will inspire you to try a Paint Chip Card.  They are so easy and with just a little effort, you can add something fun to make it special.  Thank you for stopping by.  Happy Embossing, :-)  Donna

LI's SUMMER CAMP - WEEK 2 SAMPLES FROM DONNA

Donna's Sunshine Square Card using LI's new Summer Camp Cut Outs and an embossed watering can,  Template L9005.  I love the colors!

Good afternoon!  What a fun week and I hated to see Summer Camp - Week 2 end.  I loved it and it was fun to not only duplicate Kerry's projects from her class videos but, I also enjoyed adding some embossing when I thought it fit my card idea.  The above 4 1/2" square card is an example of that.  I loved Kerry's daisy tag but, I wanted to make it my own by adding some embossing and my faux stitching.  I love how it turned out.  Here are some more cards I made from Summer Camp - Week 2:

Donna's Slim Line Card using LI's Lengthy Notes and new Cut Outs.

I really enjoyed the "On the Farm" Cut Outs and I thought LI's Lengthy Notes were the perfect size, enabling me to add all of these cute images without looking too crowded.

Donna's Chicken Soup Card using LI's new Cut Outs and an embossed fence using Template L930.

And here (above) is another chicken idea I could not resist making.  I am so in love with LI's Gingham cardstock and when I first saw this paper, I have to say, I thought it would not work on an A2 card size, much less a 4 1/2" square card.  However, it does!  Yippee.  I added the tree to my card that is a new Cut Out that was not used in Kerry's videos.  I loved the tree so much that I also put it inside this card:

Isn't this tree and heart cute?

Donna's Caught a Bug Card using new LI Cut Outs.

Donna's Daisy Seeds Card using new LI Cut Outs with Template L9035.

The Template I used in the above card is really versatile!  You could put most any embossed image on the front that is "seed-able."  Hmmmmm, is that a word?  Hopefully, you know what I mean.  I love how this card turned out using one of the large Cut Out Daisies, leaves, and ladybug.  I used Tim Holt's Antique Linen to distress it around the edges of my embossing and mounted it all on one of my favorite garden papers ... In The Garden (small).  I added my faux stitching and 3 tiny LI Black Buttons.  :-)  And here is my last card for the week ... and I think my favorite!

Donna's Sunshine Watering Can using LI Cut Outs and Template L9008.

I really love how the above card turned out.  It speaks of summer, doesn't it?  I hope you will give these new Cut Outs a try and add your own embossing to them.  Happy embossing, :-)  Donna.
